Poetry Recital Organized by AMMPE Guatemala Chapter
On Tuesday, July 22, as part of the 2025 program of the Guatemala Chapter, “Symphony of Literature and Song”, the poetry recital “Poetic Codes” was held at La Teca Library in Guatemala City. The event was dedicated to Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, winner of the 1971 Nobel Prize in Literature, to commemorate his birth on July 12, 1904.
Writer and poet Nicté Serra expressed: "It is exciting to be in this magical space of books, literature, art, dialogue, and community. La Teca is a library for everyone, and that unconditional openness has made possible incomparable moments of creation and construction... At AMMPE Guatemala, we celebrate and promote literary and poetic creation, fully aware of its importance in fostering culture and shaping the essential literary face of the country".
Next, poet Carmen Matute, National Literature Prize laureate, shared her remarks dedicated to Pablo Neruda and read her poem titled “Ode to Pablo".
Four poets surprised the audience with their creations: Ana Lucía García Ruano, Marian Godínez, Alejandra Pamela Santiago, and Freddy Santos.
This event was yet another success for the World Association of Women Journalists and Writers, Guatemala Chapter.
