Debate on the creation of content for media with AI
On May 20, AMMPE Guatemala held the third activity of the 2025 Sinfonía de Literatura y Canto program, in collaboration with Universidad Galileo.
A keynote lecture entitled "Intelligent writing: Content Creation for Print Media with AI", given by engineer MSc Alí Arafat Lemus. In his speech, Lemus shared his experience and knowledge of artificial intelligence applied to written communication and robotic technology.
One of the highlights was the demonstration of the telepresence robot “Leonardo”, created by him in 2016 and presented in California. This device, controlled by sensors that mimic the movements of the hand, arm and head of its operator, works thanks to advanced artificial intelligence systems.
Besides, Lemus spoke about “Blue Midnight,” a robot designed in 2020 during the pandemic, which uses UV-C light to disinfect large areas, eliminating bacteria, fungi, and viruses, including SARS-CoV-2.

The event was closed by Ana María de Eskenasy, who said: "As journalists and writers, we have learned that artificial intelligence is an intelligent assistant that empowers our work and can become a powerful ally for the creation, analysis and dissemination of journalistic and literary content.
AI is not intended to replace human labor, but to transform our routines. In conclusion, the knowledge and use of AI in the field of journalism and literature seeks a synergy between human creativity and intelligent automation, with the aim of optimizing processes, expanding the impact of content and preserving narrative quality."
The event was attended by 90 participants, including journalists, writers and academics, who positively valued the contribution of artificial intelligence to creative and communicational processes.
