AMMPE Argentina holds reading clinic on the book “The Greek Class” by Han Kang
Since the end of February, AMMPE Argentina is developing a reading clinic on the book “The Greek Class” by the Nobel Prize in Literature 2024, Han Kang. The four-meeting workshop is not intended to be a series of “classes”, but a space for exchange, analysis and reflection on issues as profound as those covered in the novel. The Argentine chapter explained: “We have thought of different axes to organize each meeting and, based on them, to allocate time for dialogue among all”.
The ideas proposed for this reflection have been Han Kang, the first Asian woman Nobel Prize winner in literature and how her biography and the context of production influence her writing. Here the central theme was language. A second axis was the plot of the novel and the issues addressed in it. Thirdly, literary aspects: writing techniques, stylistic resources. Narrative polyphony. Time. And also Kang and the Borgesian universe, intertextual aspects and the question: Is it an homage to Borges?
The clinic will close on Thursday, April 10.
