Innovative plan with a gender focus for AMMPE Central America.
The Institute for Applied and Forensic Research and Scientific Writings (iiafFEC) and the Worldwide Association for Women Journalists and Writers (AMMPE), local chapter for Central America and the Caribbean – located in Panama – have created on the City of Knowledge the first Journalism Diploma 4.0 aimed at women journalists in special social vulnerability due to the pandemic, with the dual objective of training them in the journalistic specializations most in demand today and facilitating their reintegration into work.
This novel social an academic project is supported and awarded by the German foundation Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) and also receives, the support of prestigious institutions such as SENAYCT, the Pedagogic University of Bern, Switzerland, through the program Migration, Mobilität und Globales Lernen (Migration, Mobility and Global Education) the Think Tank Democracy and International Development (D&D International) from Lima, Peru, the main institutions and mass media from Panama.
15 scholarships have been awarded to women journalists selected through a national public ranking, which will allow them to develop cutting-edge contents about: narrative, scientific, investigative journalism and professional ethic: fake news, post-truth infodemic. It also includes some Masters Classes with renowned journalists from Europe and the U.S. and each subject, as well as professional internships in editorial staffs or institutional press departments.
